A Glimpse into Our Neighborhood’s

Every neighborhood has its unique allure, a certain charm that draws people in and makes it feel like home. In our corner of the world, we’re lucky to call a quaint and historically rich neighborhood our own. Today, we’re excited to share with you a glimpse into the heart of our community, highlighting one of our favorite spots – a historic bar where we gather to take a momentary pause from the bustling rhythm of life.

Nestled in the heart of our vibrant neighborhood lies a hidden treasure that has recently undergone a remarkable transformation. We are excited to share with you the story of the beautifully renewed historic bar that has captured our hearts. Steeped in history and now adorned with exquisite details, this bar is more than just a place to grab a coffee – in those halls in 1919 Count Camillo Negroni created his cocktail.

Count Camillo Negroni, a connoisseur with a penchant for strong libations, expressed his desire for a bolder concoction. Famed bartender Fosco Scarselli, known for his mastery of mixing drinks, heeded this call and embarked on a journey that would give birth to a timeless classic. In a gesture that would change the course of mixology history, Scarselli replaced the soda water in the Americano with gin and added an orange garnish, creating the perfect harmony of bitter, sweet, and strong. The result was an exquisite cocktail that embodied the spirit of its time – a cocktail that would go on to be known as the Negroni.

So, the next time you find yourself in Florence, be sure to step into the hallowed halls of Bar Giacosa, where history and mixology intertwine in a celebration of taste, tradition, and the art of a well-crafted cocktail.
